You can earn 3x IHG One Rewards points when you book through the IHG app, or 2x points through other IHG direct booking channels, for qualifying stays between 1 October and 31 December 2026.
There’s an important catch: both bonuses start from your second qualifying stay after registration. Your first stay counts towards the promotion, but doesn’t earn promotional bonus points—even if you book it through the app.
Register Before You Stay
You need to register for IHG’s Up to 3X promotion to take part. Registration is open until 31 December 2026.
Stays completed before you register don’t count, so register before your next stay rather than waiting until you’re ready to make a second booking.
How the Bonus Works
After registration:
- First qualifying stay: No promotional bonus, regardless of how you book.
- Second qualifying stay onwards, booked through the IHG One Rewards app: Earn 3x base points in total.
- Second qualifying stay onwards, booked through other IHG direct channels: Earn 2x base points in total.
The booking channel for each stay determines its multiplier. You can earn double points on one stay and triple points on another; you aren’t locked into one earning tier for the whole promotion.
There’s no cap on promotional bonus points.
The IHG app on Android and iOS qualifies for triple points. In mainland China, the HarmonyOS app and WeChat also qualify. LINE bookings qualify in Japan, Taiwan and Thailand.
What Counts as a Qualifying Stay?
Your stay must be at a participating hotel, booked through an IHG-owned direct booking channel on a qualifying rate. You need to stay at least one night, with total spend exceeding US$30 or the local equivalent for each night.
A few exclusions matter:
- Reward Nights and Points + Cash stays don’t qualify.
- Bookings through third-party sites such as Booking.com or Expedia don’t count—including towards your first qualifying stay.
- If you book multiple rooms on the same night, only one eligible room counts towards this promotion.
- Only eligible nights within 1 October–31 December 2026 count.
Does 3x Include Your Elite Bonus?
No. The multiplier applies to base points, not your entire points haul. Triple points means your normal base points plus a promotional bonus equal to twice those base points. Double points means your base points plus an equal promotional bonus.
Your elite-status bonus and any other bonus points aren’t multiplied by this offer. The promotional bonus points also don’t qualify towards elite status.
Is It Worth Using?
If you already have multiple paid IHG stays planned before the end of December, register and consider booking through the app to earn the higher multiplier from your second qualifying stay onwards.
If you only have one qualifying stay planned, this promotion won’t earn you any extra points. It’s based on stays, not nights, so one long stay doesn’t by itself unlock the bonus.
Compare the available rates and cancellation terms before booking. A cheaper alternative may outweigh the extra points, and booking an unnecessary stay just to unlock the promotion could cost more than the bonus is worth.
