IHG has announced a new promotion to encourage app usage by members. By booking 5 or more nights through the IHG app, customers can earn 1 free night. These nights don’t have to be consecutive or at the same hotel. However, only stays booked with the Best Available Rate qualify for this promotion.
This promotion is available at participating IHG Hotels & Resorts across the Middle East, Africa, India, and South Asia.
To take advantage of this offer, don’t forget to register for the promotion first.
Once registered for the promo, stay for 5 nights or more at any participating IHG hotel or resort in the Middle East, Africa, India, or South Asia. These stay nights don’t have to be consecutive, and can be spread out and booked at different IHG properties.
It’s important to remember that bookings must be made using the ‘Best Available Rate’ on the IHG app to qualify for this promotion. Bookings can be made until February 29, 2024, for stays between November 7, 2023, and March 11, 2024.
Free nights can be booked/redeemed starting from January 1, 2024, until August 31, 2024, for stays between May 1, 2024, and August 31, 2024.
The free night will be credited to the member’s Reward Wallet within the IHG One Rewards App and can be used towards a Reward Night stay of up to 40,000 points per night.
These free nights can be used at participating hotels in the Middle East, South West Asia, and African countries. Any unused free nights will expire on August 31st, if not used by then.
It is not clear from the terms, but it seems like a member can earn a free night for every 5 qualifying nights during the promotion period.
To book or not to book?
This promotion is a bit tricky. In some cases, it may be better to book the lowest rate. Especially if the difference is more than 25% in the cost. In some cases, this offer will make a lot more sense.
Travelers who prefer the flexibility of the Best Available Rate can definitely benefit from this offer.
In any case, I suggest registering for this promotion and then decide later. You should be able to combine this with some other IHG bonus points promotions as well.
