For tourists exploring Uzbekistan, a comfortable base can matter more than a hotel packed with facilities. IHG’s planned Garner in Tashkent could fit that brief—if the price is right.
The 100-room Garner Hotel Tashkent is under construction on Temiryulchilar Street, with an opening targeted for September 2027. Developed with Silk Road Inn LLC, it will be the brand’s first hotel in Uzbekistan.
What Kind of Hotel Is Garner?
Garner is IHG’s midscale, essentials-focused brand, built around comfortable beds, free Wi-Fi and a straightforward stay. Signature touches include a welcome drink and snack, bean-to-cup coffee and a 24-hour Garner Shop.
Mercure and Novotel sit in the same broad midscale segment, making them more useful positioning references than Accor’s economy ibis brands. But Garner’s essentials-led model means you shouldn’t expect an identical range of restaurants, leisure facilities or services.
Tashkent already has InterContinental, voco, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn hotels. Garner could broaden the choice for visitors who would rather spend their budget exploring than on hotel extras.
Rates haven’t been announced, so we’d compare them with Holiday Inn and independent hotels before calling it a bargain. Transport connections will matter too, especially for travellers continuing around Uzbekistan. For now, it’s an option to watch for late 2027—not an opening you can book around yet.
