About Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors
Marriott Bonvoy Outdoors is a new digital platform and collection launched in late September 2025, designed to connect travelers with outdoor experiences. The platform brings together more than 450 outdoor-focused hotels, 50,000 Homes & Villas properties, and curated tours and activities under one searchable interface.
Rather than searching by destination alone, travelers can now filter properties by seven outdoor activity categories: ski and snowboard, hike and camp, bike, paddle, fish, dive, and surf. The platform aims to simplify trip planning for outdoor enthusiasts by identifying properties with immediate access to specific activities.
The Outdoor Collection by Marriott Bonvoy serves as the flagship brand within this ecosystem, featuring two inaugural sub-brands:
-
Postcard Cabins: Over 1,200 compact, Scandinavian-inspired cabins across 29 U.S. locations, each within two hours of major cities. Properties feature private fire pits and direct access to trails and natural landscapes. Rates start around $150 or 27,000 Bonvoy points per night.
-
Trailborn Hotels: Boutique properties in bucket-list destinations including the Blue Ridge Mountains, Grand Canyon, and Wrightsville Beach, North Carolina. These properties blend architectural design with outdoor programming and curated food and beverage experiences.
All properties in the Outdoor Collection participate in Marriott Bonvoy, allowing members to earn and redeem points on stays. The collection emphasizes sustainability and aims to protect the natural landscapes surrounding its properties.
Is It Worth It?
This is a standard low-tier promotion by Marriott’s recent standards. At a typical valuation of 0.7 cents per Bonvoy point, the standard bonus of 2,025 points is worth about $14, while the Outdoors bonus of 4,025 points is worth roughly $28 per stay.
The math works better for short, inexpensive stays where the fixed bonus represents a higher percentage return. For longer luxury stays, the bonus becomes negligible relative to your total spending.
The three-stay cap is restrictive. You’ll earn a maximum of 6,075 bonus points ($42 value) at standard properties or 12,075 bonus points ($84 value) at Outdoors properties. This isn’t enough to move the needle on elite status or significantly offset the cost of future redemptions.
If you already have Marriott stays planned between now and January, register and collect the bonus. The Outdoors properties could be worth exploring if you’re seeking unique experiences near national parks or outdoor destinations, but don’t manufacture stays solely for this promotion.
The timing overlaps with the holiday travel season, which could work in your favor if you already have end-of-year trips booked.
Bottom Line
Marriott’s Celebrate 2025 promotion offers a modest fixed bonus that’s easy to understand but unlikely to inspire new bookings on its own. Register if you have stays planned, consider the Outdoors properties if they align with your travel interests, but don’t expect this to be a windfall for your Bonvoy account.
