Finnair is selling Avios at up to 50% off until 16 November 2026, with tier points equal to 10% of the Avios purchased. That makes this more interesting if you’re short of both Avios for a booking and tier points for Finnair status.
There’s an eligibility catch: you must have joined Finnair Plus before 30 October 2026 and have at least 50 Avios in your account. Opening an account now won’t qualify.

How much is the discount?
- 5,000–19,000 Avios: 30% off.
- 20,000–49,000: 35% off.
- 50,000–84,000: 40% off.
- 85,000–200,000: 50% off.
Buying 85,000 Avios earns 8,500 tier points as well as the Avios. The tier-point rate stays at 10% across the purchase bands; it isn’t an extra Avios bonus.
Finnair has reset the purchase allowance for this promotion, so you can buy up to 200,000 Avios even if you already used your annual allowance earlier in 2026. Gift purchases don’t qualify. These tier points won’t satisfy Platinum Lumo’s separate requirement for points earned from Finnair flights.
Worth buying?
Only with a use in mind. Check award availability, taxes and surcharges, then compare the purchase price with the cash fare. Finnair requires you to sign in to see the actual price, so the headline discount alone isn’t enough to judge value.
If you’re close to a Finnair status threshold, the tier points may improve the deal. Check your personal tracking-period deadline first, and don’t buy a much larger Avios balance just to reach the 50% band.
Avios take 1–3 days to arrive, so don’t assume an award seat will still be there when they post. Check the final purchase and cancellation terms before paying.
