The Club Vistara Points Fest 2024 is here. Every once in a while, Vistara provides an opportunity to convert credit card points (and other points) to Club Vistara, and earn bonus CV points.

This year’s promotion largely mirrors previous ones.

You can transfer your Bank or Hotel reward points from any of the approved Points Transfer Partners to CV Points, and earn up to 40% bonus CV Points. The points transfer should be completed by 31st March 2024. Please note that point transfers may take longer than even a week with some partners.

Before transferring your points, don’t forget to register for this offer here.

The bonus percentage is dependent on how many points you are moving over.

CV Points Received Bonus
5000–50,000 15%
50,001–100,000 25%
More than 100,000 40%

It’s important to note that a transfer of exactly 100,000 points will result in a 25% bonus. To receive the maximum 40% bonus points, you’ll need to transfer slightly more than this.

With this offer, you could earn up to 1 Lakh bonus CV Points per ‘Points Transfer Partner’ with a minimum transfer of 5000 CV Points.

  6. AU Bank

Should you transfer points to Vistara?

The 40% bonus points offer is enticing, no matter how you view it.

However, the decision isn’t as straightforward as it once was, especially for those considering a large points transfer.

Finding Vistara award flights (tickets purchased with points) has become very difficult lately. Unless you’re planning weeks in advance, availability is practically nonexistent.

Furthermore, Vistara’s limited destination offerings may hinder your ability to redeem points before they expire. If your frequent routes are between Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore, you’ll likely have more opportunities to use the points. International destinations also provide decent redemption options.

Vistara has also decreased the number of award seats per flight, making it exceedingly difficult to find award seats for larger groups or family on the same flight.

Plus, the impending merger of Vistara with Air India adds more uncertainty about the future value of CV points. Air India’s redemption rate is disappointingly low, and a 1:1 transfer would undoubtedly mean a significant loss in point value.

Consider other transfer options.

Whether or not to transfer also depends on what your card offers in terms of redemption options. For instance, transferring Amex points to Marriott Bonvoy during a 30% bonus points promotion could offer better value.

Likewise, booking Vistara flights via HDFC points directly could yield greater flexibility and value if flights prices are reasonable.

On the other hand, transferring from Axis Bank to Vistara might be better compared to other alternatives (except Accor).

Conclusion

Club Vistara is extending an offer of up to 40% bonus CV points when you convert your credit card or Club ITC points to CV points. However, making this decision isn’t easy due to Vistara’s limited routes, and award tickets availability. As well as the upcoming merger with Air India.
