Accor shareholders can get complimentary ALL Gold status by joining its Shareholders Club. You need at least one registered share or 50 bearer shares—and the distinction matters.

Buying one Accor share through a normal brokerage account does not automatically qualify you. Ask your broker how the shares are held and whether registered ownership is supported before buying for this benefit.

What does Gold get you?

At participating hotels, Gold benefits include:

  • A room upgrade to the next category, subject to availability.
  • Early check-in or late checkout, subject to availability.
  • A welcome drink and additional Reward points on eligible stays.

Brand and property rules apply. Gold does not include standard complimentary breakfast or lounge access, so don’t confuse it with Platinum.

How to get it

Once you hold the qualifying shares, apply to the Shareholders Club through Accor’s official shareholder page. Club membership is free; buying shares alone doesn’t activate Gold.

The complimentary status is valid until 31 December of the year after you join. Keeping the shares does not renew Gold indefinitely: you must qualify normally to retain it, and rejoining the club is not an annual shortcut to another complimentary card.

This could be a useful extra if you already want to own Accor shares and stay with its hotels. It isn’t a risk-free way to buy status: the share price can fall, and brokerage or registration costs may outweigh the hotel benefits.
