IHG or InterContinental Hotels Group is one of the leading hotel groups in the world with several popular brands under its belt. With properties spanning from budget-friendly options to luxurious and iconic destinations worldwide, IHG offers accommodations for every type of traveler.

Yet, the sheer size and variety of IHG’s brands can sometimes lead to confusion among guests. Even seasoned travelers may sometimes struggle to remember if a particular brand belongs to IHG or to Marriott or Hilton.

Despite IHG’s careful classification of their hotel brands into distinct categories, it may not accurately portray the experience you might have at a particular location.

For instance, staying at a Six Senses property would be vastly different from staying at an Indigo hotel. The same applies to the cost of accommodation, even though they fall into the same category.

That’s why it’s important to understand the brand you are planning to stay at before booking.
