Choice Hotels has launched a new promotional offer, allowing Choice Privileges members to accumulate an additional 8000 bonus points after completing two stays at their global hotels, with some exceptions.

This offer is not as straightforward as it seems to be.
There are several terms and conditions associated with this promotion that you should be aware of before booking a Choice Hotel.
Exceptions.
This promotion can be availed globally except for bookings made at Choice hotels in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Estonia, and Latvia.
WoodSpring Suites® hotels and Ascend Hotel Collection® all-inclusive resorts are not included in this offer as well.
The bonus points could range from 5000 to 8000.
Members who have registered will receive between 5,000 and 8,000 bonus points following their second qualifying stay. The actual number of bonus points given is contingent upon the number of base points earned from the two separate qualifying stays, and may differ based on the hotel chosen.
However, the total combination of base plus bonus points awarded will always equal or surpass 8,000 points.
Including base points in the calculation for a bonus points promotion is somewhat audacious.
Non-qualifying rates.
To be eligible for this promotion, your stay must be at a property where the nightly rate is $40 or more. Furthermore, this promotion does not apply to:
- Certain promotional rates set by the hotel.
- Reward night stays.
- Complimentary rooms or rooms paid as part of a meeting or convention.
- Rooms reserved via third-party online retailers, including online travel agencies or wholesale packages/group tours.
- Bookings made using employee discount rates.
- Reservations made using friends and family discount rates.
