In a move following Thailand’s recent decision to waive visa requirements for Indian tourists, Malaysia has now announced that it will also grant visa-free entry to citizens of India and China.

Starting from December 1st, 2023, Indian and Chinese passport holders will be able to travel to Malaysia without a visa for up to 30 days. The specific details and requirements of the new visa rule are yet to be determined.

The ease of travel to Asian destinations has become increasingly appealing for Indians, who have grown frustrated with the lengthy and unpredictable visa process for Europe and the UK. Planning a last-minute trip to countries like Thailand is now much simpler due to relaxed visa requirements. In contrast, traveling to Europe or the UK requires meticulous planning months in advance due to strict visa procedures.

In addition to Malaysia, Vietnam is also considering offering visa-free entry for Indian citizens. It is hoped that Indonesia and Singapore will follow suit by waiving visa requirements for tourists from neighboring countries.
